Andrews-Perry Construction is a licensed septic system contractor in the State of Connecticut and we have more than 36 years of experience providing septic installation services including septic tank installation, septic repairs and design and installation of new or replacement septic systems.

A septic system is also known as a “Subsurface Sewage Disposal System” or an “Onsite Wastewater System”.  A septic system is an important aspect of your property’s overall value and it should be treated with care and maintained just as you maintain any other mechanical system in your home.

The On-site Installation Process

A typical septic system installation takes 3 to 5 days to complete. While there may be much commotion going on in the yard, your bathroom facilities remain completely operational during most all of this time. It is only a matter of an hour or two while disconnecting the old septic tank and reconnecting the new septic tank that we will ask you to avoid using the water or flushing the toilets.

Placing Septic Fill Material

In some cases, the site contains soils approved for septic leaching and no additional material is needed. In other cases, approved septic material must be trucked onto the site. In these photos, the leaching area was excavated according to plan and approved septic material was hauled in and carefully placed.

Installing Proprietary Leaching Units in Septic Fill

Once the proper quantity of septic fill is in place, a leaching trench is excavated and the leaching units are installed.

Connecting Leach Field to Septic Tank

A distribution box is placed between the leaching units and a pipe is connected from the septic tank to the distribution box.
The distribution box will distribute effluent from the tank so that both ends of the leach field will be utilized equally.

Backfilling Installed Septic System

Care must be taken when backfilling the newly installed septic system.
All components of the system are marked with stakes to prevent the heavy equipment from driving over the area during the backfill process.

Grading for Lawn Restoration

Once the septic system is backfilled, topsoil is spread and the area is graded in preparation for final grading and lawn restoration.
