Our Story

It began simply as a desire to be in business for ourselves rather than working for someone else. Individually, we (Joe and Peter) secured personal loans from a local bank and used a portion of the loan proceeds to purchase a used dump truck and trailer.

We decided on a business name choosing to use our two last names and putting "Andrews" first to ensure we would be one of the first listings in the construction heading of the local yellow pages (there was no "Googling it" because there was no internet back in 1988!).

With the remaining loan proceeds, we opened a business checking account, obtained business insurance and then secured financing to purchase a new 580K Case Backhoe. The office was not much more than a telephone, answering machine and a filing cabinet. Our first official job as Andrews-Perry Construction, Inc. was to lay a brick patio which did not have much to do with excavation.

​​​Forward in time to today and we are proud to be in our 33rd year providing excavation site work and septic system installations for hundreds of new construction and existing home sites in the Farmington Valley of Connecticut and surrounding area.

​We are grateful to every one of our current and former customers for trusting us with their excavation or septic project. We believe that being a small owner-operated excavation company in CT makes us completely accountable to our customers.

​We have well-established working relationships with many locally known and respected developers in the area and also with the local health departments. Andrews-Perry Construction is our livelihood and our reputation and we take that very seriously. Today we employ seven individuals and maintain an office on Route 4 in Burlington, CT.
